Notes:-

  • First off, the aim of the deck is to rack up the binds so that you can get Chronotiger Gear Glare’s GB3 fully online as soon as possible. The neat thing about a Chronofang Tiger deck is that through Chronotiger Rebellion and Gear Glare, you have, at maximum guarantee, 6 chances to perform Quadruple Drive, so being able to take advantage of that by getting the binds up as early as possible would only benefit you for the mid-late game, especially if you have Rebellion available after burning through all of your Gear Glares.
  • But of course, your battle instincts should not be ignored for formulaic turns. If you are short on the bind, going up to Rebellion or Bind Time Dragon first before Gear Glare is no problem, if you want to force your opponent to guard off a potentially dangerous Vanguard attack.
  • Resource-wise, GBT12 did a lot to help give Chronofang a lot of recovery options, with Hegardo being one of the best for Counter Charging and Pushing Advance Gear Tiger for the Soul Charging. Not only that but if you get your binds going, units like Nadin and Adad-apra will reward you with draws and counter charges, respectively.
  • I understand that this build includes a couple of promo cards like Altered Dragon and Quick-accel Dragon. They both help with building up the number of cards in your bind zone. (I managed to get 7 in the bind using both of their skills on my first stride)
    • An alternative unit I can suggest in replacing Quick-accel Dragon is Chronofang Tiger G to fully guarantee you ride to a Chronofang Vanguard. Alternatively, any Grade 3 that can perform Time Leap from the rear-guard circle will work as well, especially if you have Ur-Watar or Night-barking Gear Tabby on the field.
    • Metapulsar, Split Pegasus can effectively replace Altered Dragon. While I used to use Interdimensional Dragon, Warp Drive Dragon to help build up the bind count, Split Pegasus can help you out better with setting up your field on the first stride. Chronofang still suffers a bit with rear-guard presence, and with your new units from GBT12 making it easy to rack up the bind count on their own, you can easily reach 9 in the bind in time. While there isn’t a lot of them in this build, there are a good number of Zodiac Time Beasts in each grade that you can call out using Split Pegasus’ skill, some of which can help with the bind count, like Manish or Mara, or resource recovery like Hegardo.
    • And while I’m on this topic, your Perfect Guards can be replaced with Pulsar Tamer, Arka. The fact that only half my triggers are Zodiac Time Beasts in this build is what’s making me weigh my options considerably.
  • Metapulsar, Mystery-freeze Dragon may be situational at best, and at times you can’t really guarantee its Quadruple Drive, but what you can hope to count on is that you can stop your opponent’s hand size from guarding, especially if you know there’s Perfect Guards in there to stop and heal triggers to burn out his G-Guardians.
    • And Interdimensional Dragon, Beyond Order Dragon, is just there to mess around with your opponent for some good fun.
  • And yes, this is the exact same deck I used to fight Ishii Mark, the voice actor for Shindou Chrono in Cardfight!! Vanguard G, at Charaexpo 2017. If you wanna try it, it’s a fun deck I would recommend to anyone looking to have fun figuring out how to make a deck work and putting it in action.

Cardfight #100: Leon’s Chronofang Gear Chronicle Deck Profile

Cardfight #94: JJ’s Zodiac Time Beast Gear Chronicle Deck Profile

Hey, Rear-guards!

Cardfight #94 sees us pit JJ’s Zodiac Time Beast Gear Chronicle deck against ZaCaptain’s Harri Pale Moon deck. You can check the video above to see the bout, but if you’re interested in seeing the Zodiac Time Beast deck profile, we have it in this post.

If you want to check out what’s in the Harri deck, click here.

Take note that this build is one that is used for this cardfight. Changes may have been already made at this point in time by the owner. You are welcome to learn from this deck profile, if you are looking to build one, but we highly encourage you to build yours to fit you.

First Vanguard:-
Chrono Dran G

Triggers:-
3 Pulsar, Rush Boar (Critical)
3 Chronovolley Rabbit (Critical)
2 Pulsar, Hypnosis Sheep (Stand)
2 Chronotimer Leghorn (Stand)
2 Chronodoze Sheep (Draw)
4 Chronotherapy Hamster (Heal)

Grade 1s:-
2 Chronocharge Unicorn
2 Chronodash Peccary
2 Chronoethos Jackal
2 Pulsar Tamer, Nepada
4 Steam Tamer, Arka (Sentinel-PG)

Grade 2s:-
3 Chronobeat Buffalo
2 Chronoclaw Monkey
2 Chronospin Serpent
3 Pulsar, Farm Peacock
2 Pulsar, Speedy Bunny

Grade 3s:-
3 Chronofang Tiger
2 Chronofang Tiger G
4 Chronojet Dragon G

Strides and G Guardians:-
2 Chronodragon Nextage
2 Chronotiger Rebellion
1 Deus Ex Machina, Demiurge
4 Metapulsar, Altered Dragon
4 Metapulsar, Split Pegasus
3 Interdimensional Beast, Pandora Chimera (G-Guardian)

Notes:-

  • So this is the Zodiac Time Beast style of Demiurge. Instead of binding through the use of Gear Colossus, this deck is made of Zodiac Time Beasts entirely.
  • Ideally, you want to ride to Chronojet Dragon G to abuse his on-Stride skill to filter out the deck, while binding what you need to bind through Altered Dragon. Alternatively, if you are in need of pressure from the Rear-guards, you can easily switch to Split Pegasus to reinforce your field instead.
  • Chronofang Tiger is really there in the event that you ride into him. After the first Altered Dragon or Split Pegasus, his GB2 skill is great in case you have nothing to stride with.
  • The key to the deck is to be patient and be very careful in what you bind so that you have at least 12 Zodiac Time Beasts with different names. That being said, don’t be so eager to use Demiurge unless you are sure you can stave off the attacks coming your way and finishing off your opponent after.
  • With the prevalence of G Guardians, Demiurge is played not as a win condition in itself, but rather as the key to setting up for future turns. In fact, this deck has 3 different finishers provided. Chronodragon Nextage, Chronotiger Rebellion and Metapulsar, Altered Dragon. Personally, Nextage is my key finisher due to its restand ability, on top of Chronojet Dragon G’s skill, making it easily swing for 31000 to 36000 Power by himself. That’s not counting the rear-guards getting 4000-5000 Power boosts. That makes it quite nasty after a Demiurge turn.
  • Rebellion is pretty self explanatory. Whether it be before or a turn or two after Demiurge, it is the quadruple drive and extra critical that is the main thing.
  • If you go by the Altered Dragon route, it’s ability to gain 2000 Power for each card in the bind zone makes for an increasingly bigger Vanguard after every turn. Assuming you hit the 4th Altered Dragon, it is quite possible to have it at a mininal 50000 Power.
  • With all of that said, have fun trying this build, if you enjoy my concept of it, and all the best to your perfect future!

Notes:-

  • At first glance, you may see the various amount of units in this deck build. I built my Zodiac Time Beast deck this way because I want to be able to adapt to any situation. The main strategy of the deck is to get as many strides face up to bring up Chronojet Dragon G and the front row Zodiac Time Beasts to PG-only levels of power, whilst everything else exists in the deck to adapt to any opponent.
  • As earlier mentioned, Chronojet Dragon G is the main Ace of the deck with his skill to power up from every 2 face up cards in the G Zone. Chronojet Dragon is there to give me access to using Crossover Dragon, which in turn adds a lot of on-hit threat to the deck. And because the deck does not play that much around sending opponents’ units to the bottom of the deck, Chronofang Tiger G helps with that, in case I need to get rid of a particularly pesky rear-guard.
  • I could absolutely max out the number of Lugal-ures in the deck, but because of the reasons in the first point, I kept him down to 2. Ideally, I would Lugal-ures flanking both sides of the Vanguard circle to make every column attack count. And with its ability to Time Leap on a Grade 3 ZTB check, I can increase my attack by one more.
  • Farm Peacock is really helpful, because it is immune to being sent to the bottom of the deck by skills like Split Pegasus when he is Time Leaped out. Chronobeat Buffalo is always a welcome addition to the deck, thanks to his constant 11000 Power (as long as you ride up to a ZTB Vanguard).
  • Tick-away Dragon is very helpful in filtering your deck. Whenever you Time Leap, you can send a card back to the bottom of the deck and it’s not [1/Turn] too. With the restriction on Ur-Watar in place currently, Tick-away Dragon is helpful in circumventing the restrictions, regardless of how efficient it is compared to before.
  • One thing that this deck does need is an increase in the number of Zodiac Time Beasts. Chronojet Dragon G and Split Pegasus only targets Zodiac Time Beasts, so if future releases of Gear Chronicle provides more Zodiac Time Beasts, this deck would be tremendously boosted by them.
  • Some of you may cry about Chronodragon Gear Groovy not being in the G Zone. To which I must point out that I don’t have space for him or a decent amount of Gear Dragons with AUTO abilities for him to take up.
  • But this deck does have its flaws. You need to keep track of which units’ skills can activate from. Units like Hypnosis Sheep requires to be called from hand to activate, whereas units like Farm Peacock needs to be placed from the deck. Not only that, but the deck is also Counterblast heavy and Arlim doesn’t quite help with Countercharging that much. So learning to control your Counterblasts will be key.
  • Overall, despite the flaws, the deck is playable, fun and is awaiting future boosts for more fun.
