Cardfight #81: JJ’s Metalborg Dimension Police Deck Profile

Hey, fighters!

Cardfight #81 sees us pit JJ’s Metalborg Dimension Police deck against Dempster’s Battle Sister Oracle Think Tank deck. You can check the video above to see the bout, but if you’re interested in seeing the Metalborg deck profile, we have it in this post.

If you want to check out what’s in the Battle Sister deck, click here.

Take note that this build is one that is used for this cardfight. Changes may have been already made at this point in time by the owner. You are welcome to learn from this deck profile, if you are looking to build one, but we highly encourage you to build yours to fit you.

First Vanguard
Metalborg, Blackboi

Triggers:-
4 Metalborg, Battle Roller (Critical)
Metalborg, Grasscutter (Critical)
Metalborg, Devil Loader (Draw)
4 Metalborg, Black Nurse (Heal)

Grade 1s:-
2 Commander Laurel
3 Metalborg, Black Doctor
4 Metalborg, Jetcider
3 Cosmic Hero, Grandguard (Sentinel-PG)
1 Cosmic Hero, Grandleaf (Sentinel-PG)

Grade 2s:-
4 Metalborg, Blacking Burrow
4 Metalborg, Lionetter
4 Metalborg, Ur Buster

Grade 3s:-
2 Metalborg, Barrengrader
3 Metalborg, Drion
3 Metalborg, Sin Buster

Strides and G Guardians:-
4 Hyper Metalborg, Gilt Digger
3 Hyper Metalborg, Heavyduke
1 Super Cosmic Hero, X-rogue
2 Super Cosmic Hero, X-gallop
2 Super Cosmic Hero, X-tiger
2 Enigman Patriot (G-Guardian)
1 Gallant Incarnation, G-O-Five (G-Guardian)
1 Super Cosmic Hero, X-carivou (G-Guardian)

Notes:-

  • For this round, despite getting only 1 card out of the G Character Booster 2: We Are Trinity Dragon, Metalborgs, surprisingly, now has a much higher damage output.
  • With the current meta being what it is (I’m looking at you Seven Seas), Blackboi remains viable as a First vanguard because of its ability. It doesn’t matter what you ride up to, as long as you have either Ur Buster or Lionetter as your Grade 2 Vanguard. Blackboi can do the rest, as long as you have enough units to use his skill. Even if your opponent isn’t playing a Grade 1 rush deck, using this strategy is helpful in the situation when you have the 2 Counterblasts and 3 other Metalborg units to pay for it.
  • The strategy here is to bypass the turn you need to perform Legion. So Gilt Digger is another unit you can use to do that. In fact, Gilt Digger is more viable to use than Blackboi, since Gilt Digger can draw a card after you set your heart as Legion. Just note that you may end up having less triggers in the deck than usual, since you don’t send cards back to the deck for the Legion ability.
  • Once you are in Legion, preferably as Sin Buster, the time becomes ripe to call Commander Laurel onto the field. The combination of Commander Laurel’s skill and Sin Buster’s guard restriction ability makes it easier to pressure your opponent into guard earlier than he planned to. Nothing beats the sound of internal screaming from that.
  • But honestly, the real ace in the deck is actually Blacking Burrow. He becomes an 11000 Power attacker, while your Metalborg Vangaurd is in Legion, and he can give whatever power he has on him to the Vanguard, when it attacks. You will lose that Blacking Burrow, but achieving the numbers needed for Sin Buster to get all of his skills in effect has never been easier, thanks to him.
  • Overall, this Metalborg deck is a relatively simple deck to use but it’s easy to enter autopilot mode when playing this deck. Stay aware, as situations can change and you will need to adapt accordingly.
  • So, have fun and continue crushing Sin with the power of Vigilante Justice!

Grade 3s:-

1 Enigman Patriot (G-Guardian)
2 Super Cosmic Hero, X-carivou (G-Guardian)
1 Gallant Incarnation, G-O-Five (G-Guardian)

Notes:-

  • Before I talk about the current build of my deck, I must bring up something important, which is the reason why this deck isn’t a full Enigman deck. To put it simply, most of the Enigman units released in the Character Booster were designed to be played with a Burst-based deck build. Not only that, because the new units are all designed with Burst abilities, even if I were to achieve the first part of its skill, most, if not all, of them gives themselves Power first before they give the Vanguard something in the form of Power or a skill. I really tried my best to maintain the deck to be as much Enigman as possible, but with the shortcomings of the new units and the fact that I needed to find ways to power up my Vanguard just so that I can achieve the conditions for Burst, this is the end result of that struggle.
  • Anyways, onto the current deck itself. As I mentioned earlier, the deck does require units that can provide Power to the Vanguard, especially for units with the Burst ability like X-gallop and Commander Laurel D. The optimal amount of Power a Vanguard or the center column will need in this deck is 16000 Power, which translates to 4 units’ skills. Last counted, I have 12 different types of units that can add power, so being short of units to add Power becomes less likely.
  • The deck also needs a healthy amount of hand to achieve this. Reika, Elegance Feather and Grandseed are the units that can help achieve, with Draw triggers being there to make sure that should my opponent choose to guard off the attack with on-hit draws, I am not stuck without a low hand size.
  • On that note, the best time I found that I could activate the on-hit skills of X-lead, Elegence Feather and Grandseed is when my opponent is sitting at 2 damage, which is usually on your first turn. Depending on the deck, they may value their need for Counterblasts more than you drawing extra cards, so they will begrudgingly no guard their opponent. But of course, even with this in mind, you do need to analyse the situation and work your strategy around it.
  • Enigman Crossray was a last minute addition to the deck. The note I made here is that with Reika needing a Vanguard to be 37000 in order to get the auto-draw, Enigman Crossray has a very cheap cost to be able to achieve the number I needed for it, without resorting to wasting an X-tiger for it.
  • The lesson I learnt way too late after editing the video was the following. Enigman Calm needs a Vanguard with the Burst ability to reach 40000 in order to fetch it back from the Drop Zone. That drops the number of units I could use to be able to do that is X-gallop and X-lead. I am currently back to the drawing board on that, but this just reinforces the notion that in a deck like this, you need to be sure of what requires a Burst Vanguard and what doesn’t.
  • But overall, it is a very fun deck to play. During the cycle of building this deck, I had a lot of close matches with my friends with it. If you enjoy heart thumping moments in Vanguard, this deck can definitely provide.

First Vanguard:-
Cosmic Hero, Grandseed

Triggers:-
4 Cosmic Hero, Grandbeat (Critical)
4 Cosmic Hero, Grandscold (Stand)
2 Operator Girl, Reika (Stand)
2 Operator Girl, Rinka (Stand)
4 Operator Girl, Erika (Heal)

Grade 1s:-
1 Commander Laurel
2 Cosmic Hero, Grandlady
3 Cosmic Hero, Grandrope
4 Cosmic Hero, Grandvicle
4 Enigman Calm (Sentinel-PG)

Grade 2s:-
2 Cosmic Hero, Grandberet
2 Cosmic Hero, Grandfire
1 Cosmic Hero, Grandrifter
4 Cosmic Hero, Grandvolver
2 Enigman Helm

Grade 3s:-
3 Bravest Rush, Grandgallop

4 Super Cosmic Hero, X-tiger
1 Enigman Patriot (G-Guardian)
2 Super Cosmic Hero, X-carivou (G-Guardian)
1 Gallant Incarnation, G-O-Five (G-Guardian)

Notes:-

  • The slight boost that was given to Cosmic Heroes may not be much, but it does quite a number of significant things. The new Grandgallop lets you Counterblast 1 for a total of an 8000 Power boost to the Vanguard, making it easier to hit the 2nd burst numbers for units like X-gallop.
  • Alongside the new Grandgallop’s stride skill, its second skill can shift the playstyle of Cosmic Heroes to a more aggressive type, which makes calling Commander Laurel out all the more supported, for lack of a better work. Being able to stride for free from a low-sized hand lets you not only maintain whatever few cards you have in hand, but also, with an untouched field, lets you stack up your hand size with triple and quadruple drives, not to mention additional draws from Reika and Grandseed.
  • And even beyond that, with the ease of hitting more than 45000 Power, you can get the full benefit of fetching back Enigman Calm from the drop zone back into your hand, which is always nice to remember, but do make sure you remember, so that you can save yourself in a pinch.
  • Take note that you can play the new Enigman units in a Gallop deck, turning it into a Burst deck, rather than a Gallop deck. They offer plenty of skills that Gallop can benefit from, and being able to activate all of their abilities with ease is always an assured thing.
  • Overall, the Cosmic Heroes got a nice boost in this set, so go out there and start your modifications of your super giant fighting robot!

Cardfight #75: ZaCaptain’s Victor Nova Grappler Deck Profile

Hey, fighters!

Cardfight #75 sees us pit ZaCaptain’s Victor Nova Grappler deck against Ben’s Rising Nova Spike Brothers deck. You can check the video above to see the bout, but if you’re interested in seeing the Victor deck profile, we have it in this post.

If you want to check out what’s in the Rising Nova deck, click here.

Take note that this build is one that is used for this cardfight. Changes may have been already made at this point in time by the owner. You are welcome to learn from this deck profile, if you are looking to build one, but we highly encourage you to build yours to fit you.

First Vanguard:-
Extreme Battler, Kabutron

Triggers:-
4 Extreme Battler, Break-pass (Critical)
2 Energy Girl (Stand)
2 Subliminal Gray (Stand)
4 Totem Brothers (Draw)
4 Ring Girl, Ai (Heal)

Grade 1s:-
3 Extreme Battler, Arashid
3 Extreme Battler, Malyaki
3 Clay-doll Mechanic
3 Lady Cyclone (Sentinel-PG)
1 Twin Blader (Sentinel-PG)

Grade 2s:-
Extreme Battler, Sazanda
3 Starlight Hedgehog
3 Extreme Battler, Arbarail
Cool Hank

Grade 3s:-
2 Exxtreme Battler, Danshark
2 Asura Kaiser
4 Exxtreme Battler, Victor

Strides and G Guardians:-
1 War Deity, Asura Kaiser
1 Meteokaiser, Tribrut
2 Meteokaiser, Victoplasma
4 Meteokaiser, Bustered
4 Meteokaiser, Victor
2 Righteous Superhuman, Blue Prison (G-Guardian)
1 Metal Element, Scryew (G-Guardian)
1 Light Element, Agleam (G-Guardian)

Notes:-

  • At first, you may be wondering why is Asura Kaiser in this deck, of all things? Well, because in the competitive scene, there were players who would play Grade 1 rush decks. Asura Kaiser is kind of my answer as a Nova Grappler player to combat that. While I don’t have the most ideal number of Grade 3s to trigger his skill, it has proven effective enough to scare those players who chose to play that way competitively. On the off-chance that I am up against decks that do not play Grade-lock, the Asura Kaiser stride will make sure I am not without an option while playing anything other than the ace Vanguard, Victor.
  • This deck is my personal build that combines the best of G-BT01 and G-BT06 units. It has the potential to kill my opponent on my first Stride. If the right cards come into play, such as Sazanda and Arbarail/Cool Hank, with enough Counterblasts, I can (no pun intended) rush my opponent to defeat and force him into a undesirable position.
  • While most players frown upon Danshark, he provides an on-hit threat that, when paired with the power that Victor gives, can force your opponent to drop more precious guards or lose their precious units and damage advantage. I’ve tried builds with and without it, and I found that however small, on-hit threat with a lot of power behind it can be quite significant.
  • But Counterblasts can get scarce, even with Clay-doll Mechanics, Lady Cyclones and Starlight Hedgehogs. I actually played without Clay-doll Mechanic to train and learn how to use my Counterblasts effectively. On top of that, considering how underwhelming Bustered is as a Stride, sometimes I would forgo using his skill to stand another unit, just to save my Counterblasts. Meteokaiser, Victor is always a good stride for when you want to save or are out of Counterblasts to use.
  • Speaking on Starlight Hedgehog, draw power for Victor is quite weak, even with Starlight Hedgehog in the deck. You still need to draw the card out to even use its ability to draw, which is why, at least for me, I continue to play Draw Triggers, rather than more Critical Triggers. Sure, with the amount of Standing power, I can dodge my Stand Triggers, but their utility is too useful to let go. Hopefully the boosts coming to Nova Grappler in February will provide something good for the deck.
  • The one Twin Blader and lack of 2 Victoplasmas is credited to one reason. I don’t own anymore copies of Victoplasma or Lady Cyclone, and I’m too lazy to find it.
  • I am planning to change my First Vanguard to Extreme Battler, Runbhol instead of Kabutron. Kabutron is a great First Vanguard, offering another source of Standing to rear-guards, especially Sazanda. Sazanda hitting the magic number makes him much more threatening. But Runbhol might be more flexible in helping other units like Danshark maintain its magic number.

Cardfight #65: Cap’s Enigman Dimension Police Deck Profile

Hey, fighters!

Cardfight #65 sees us pit ZaCaptain’s Enigman Dimension Police deck, played by Leon, against JJ’s Battle Sister Oracle Think Tank deck, played by Dempster. You can check the video above to see the bout, but if you’re interested in seeing the Enigman deck profile, we have it in this post.

Enigman Flow

Triggers:-
1 Cosmic Hero, Grandbeat (Critical)
4 Enigman Sunset (Critical)
4 Operator Girl, Reika (Stand)
3 Enigman Warm (Draw)
4 Justice Rose (Heal)

Grade 1s:-
3 Cosmic Hero, Grandlady
3 Enigman Ripple
3 Cosmic Hero, Grandrope
2 Enigman Squall
3 Cosmic Hero, Grandguard (Sentinel)
1 Cosmic Hero, Grandleaf (Sentinel)

Grade 2s:-
3 Enigman Crescent
3 Cosmic Hero, Grandfire
2 Enigman Wave
2 Cosmic Hero, Grandvolver

Grade 3s:-
1 Elegance Feather
4 Enigman Storm
3 Enigman Tornado

Strides and G Guardians:-
1 Super Cosmic Hero, X-falcon
2 Dark Superhuman, Omega
3 Super Cosmic Hero, X-tiger
1 Super Giant of Light, Enigman Crossray
1 Super Cosmic Hero, X-phoenix
1 Super Cosmic Hero, X-rogue
3 Super Cosmic Hero, X-gallop
2 Enigman Patriot (G-Guardian)
2 Super Cosmic Hero, X-carivou (G-Guardian)

Notes:-

  • Before I mention anything about this build, I will want to point out that the reason Grandbeat is in this deck is because Elegence Feather used to be Great Cosmic Hero, Grandgallop. There is a sense of hybridization with Grandgallop in this deck, but to make sure it stays as Enigman as possible for the video, I swapped it out for Elegance Feather, which helps with the power adding for Storm and Tornado.
  • In any case, the aim of this deck is to set up your units to power up Tornado and activate his skill to attack your opponent again with Storm. The problem is that Tornado’s skill never really hits as well as you would hope it would. You would have to do things two turns ago in order to catch your opponent off-guard, and even then, you would probably be facing an opponent with a decent sized hand, available to guard it off. So the aim ends up changing to going into your Strides for X-tiger and X-gallop. I’ll talk more about the strides later.
  • But for what it has, Enigman has a very good thing going for it, thanks to the boosts in G-BT07. Enigman Squall and Enigman Crescent provide the namesakes of Enigman Ripple and Enigman Wave, letting Enigman Flow and Enigman Storm’s skills to activate, respectively. Should you miss with Enigman Ripple in your hand, Squall can effectively cover for it. And if you miss either, Enigman Crescent is there to help Enigman Storm keep its 1000 power base.
  • Staying on Crescent, his skill to provide your Vanguard with a Grade 1 guard restriction makes the attack with Tornado, Storm or X-tiger more effective, forcing your opponent to G-guard or drop his grade 0s and 2s to defend it. However, that same skill can only be activated when you are at 5 damage, which makes it a last-ditch tactic to pull off.
  • Going into the strides now, while some of it is just there for situational purposes, Enigman Crossray is a nice first stride to go with before X-tiger and X-gallop. Reika is the ideal unit to use in order to gain the additional 4000 needed to activate Crossray’s skill, who will in turn help activate Reika’s own given skill to draw. The cost to rest a unit won’t be detrimental, as you can use the early turn to build your hand size and plan your defense and next move, especially if you used Reika to power up. Another good choice to power up is Elegance Feather, for the draw on-hit, (which may hit in most situations).
  • Grandlady and Grandvolver are primarily to help with X-gallop achieving the numbers he needs to Quadruple drive, given that you don’t have Grandgallop’s stride skill to help out. Just remember that for X-tiger and X-gallop’s skills, the booster also counts, so don’t overpump unnecessarily.
  • But for Grandlady and Grandvolver, they do help in an Enigman deck by helping to power up Tornado/Storm and your rear-guards, respectively. Whether you lack Enigman Sunsets in hand to return to the deck through Tornado and Sunset’s skills or not, Grandlady can help power up the Vanguard even further to make that magic number just right. Grandvolver can help make the rear-guards harder to guard off, making the extra Critical or on-hit threat easier to hit. The Counter Charge is also nice, but an Enigman deck does not have a lot of use in the Counterblast department.
  • Other than that, I believe that, personally, this deck is in the best shape it can be until the boost in the 2nd Character Booster. If you want to see what I would do with those new Enigman units, check back on this blog for that fight video with the Enigmans again for more sometime in early 2017.
